Revealed: Diezani Sat On $14bn Oil Deal With India - Report


The former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke, failed to sign a long-term agreement with New Delhi, Nigeria’s Number One oil buyer, but rather used intermediaries in the annual $14 billion deal, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam, has revealed.

Following the announcement of an incentive to give a combined sum of almost three million Naira to the cleanest neighbourhoods in Sokoto by the state government, residents of towns and villages trooped to the streets brandishing their brooms and using their shovels and other sanitation equipment to keep their surroundings clean.

Sokoto state residents have come out in their numbers to clean their streets following the announcement of N1million reward by the state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, to residents of the cleanest streets. Tambuwal yesterday made the announcement as a way to ensure that the state is kept clean. The runner-up street will get N750,000 while the 2nd runner-up will get N500,000.

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that a whooping N140bn was paid as consultancy fee for the
 construction of a second Niger bridge by the last administration. Oshiomhole  said this while reacting to insinuation
s that the Buhari led government was victimizing the Igbos because they did not vote for him. He said if at all there
 was any victimization, it was in the last administration.
